2008 Band
Camp and Football Season Schedule
Latest Update!
5th grade: 5th grade
students have been invited to become equipment managers for
the Band of Gold. They would go to all the football games,
both home and away, as well as several contests, parades,
and anywhere the Band of Gold is needed. They would also be
invited to go to Disney with us next year. I have told them
to let me know if they are interested and I will give you
more information.
May 20 - Band Boosters last meeting / $50 BAND CAMP DEPOSIT
DUE
May 21 - 5-6th grade band pizza for lunch for students with
good behavior
May 22 - Finals begin
June 2 - (week of) LOCKERS ARRIVE!! *changed from recent
dates due to holiday week*
July 26 - DCI show for those that have paid
July 30-Aug 1 -PreCamp (required for rookies) / Percussion
camp 830a-12p
Aug 4-8 - BAND CAMP!! MWF 830a-430p; TT 830a-830p
Aug 11-12 - Post Camp 6-8pm
Aug 14 - First Day of School
A huge thank you to
all the parents who still got their kids out of bed on
Monday morning for the marching band to be able to perform
at the Kumho Tire ground breaking ceremony. I had 16 out of
20 kids show - what dedication!! Thank you so much.
I would also like to extend a congratulations to all our
students that have received awards in the past several
weeks. Fine arts students tend to be among the top
percentile of their class and our school is no exception!
5th & 6th grade: grades are final as of May 21
6th grade: 1st year honor band information is attached.
This went home with the students Wednesday.
7th grade: grades are final as of May 28
8-12th grade: grades are final as of May 22
Band of Gold marching band/dance team: I have attached the
new band fees for marching band. Please read, let me know
if you have any questions, and return. I have also attached
the band camp and football schedule.
Band Booster meeting is Tuesday, May
20th, at 7pm in the bandroom. We will be discussing the
installation of the lockers (week of June 2), end of the
year funds, and a possible trip to Disney to perform in the
Magical Music Days next year. 2007-2008 may be ended but be
assured I am well underway in planning for a great 2008-2009
school year!
